Implant Treatment

Implant treatment is one of the dental treatment types that have been on the agenda in recent years thanks to the developing technology, and it is the treatment method that is frequently preferred instead of bridge treatment and is the closest to real teeth in terms of health.

Implant treatment is a relatively long-lasting treatment, but since it is one of the treatments that patients get the healthiest results, its popularity is increasing day by day. Teeth made with implant treatment are permanent compared to other forms of treatment and lasts longer. For this reason, it is a reliable and healthy dental treatment method and implant treatment is the most recommended treatment type by dentists.

What is implant treatment and to whom is it performed?

The main procedures of implant treatment with its application based on the screwing method can be listed as follows:

  1. The treatment starts with the placement of screws in the jawbone.
  2. Then, new teeth that are close to the real tooth are placed on the screws.
  3. The teeth placed on the screws are prosthetic teeth. However, dental prostheses made in the laboratory are produced in accordance with the structure of the real tooth with extremely sensitive techniques.

Implant treatment is performed for people who have lost teeth at an advanced or young age. Implant treatment can be applied to all tooth locations in the mouth, including the back and front teeth. New dental prostheses are placed in place of the teeth that must be extracted for health reasons thanks to the implant.

The implant can be applied to one or more teeth. However, implant treatment on one tooth does not affect the structure of other teeth in the mouth. In other words, other teeth are not damaged after implant treatment. The prosthetic tooth (generally zirconium) placed with the implant is also similar to the structure of other teeth. Thanks to this similarity, the integrity of the patient's mouth is preserved.

Is Implant Treatment Painful?

Implant treatment is done by inserting screws into the gums. This process may cause some difficulty to the patient but generally people does not feel during the treatment because local anaesthesia is applied. The fact that implant treatment is preferred by many people is also an indication that it does not cause unbearable pain. However, the treatment process is sensitive. During the treatment, the patient should pay attention to what he/she eats and drinks. They should avoid straining their gums. During the implant treatment, it is recommended that patients should be fed with mostly liquid and soft textured foods.
